Upper School

The Archway Upper School provides a wide variety of individualized programs for special-needs students ages 6 to 21.  Children with communication disabilities, multiple handicaps, behaviorally and economically -- receive not just an education, but services they need to succeed in life.

Learning takes place in a school-like setting with a high level of personal attention.  Small class sizes, combined with experienced teachers, counselors, and therapists, mean that students receive the care and education all parents desire for their children.  Course offerings such as pre-vocational and vocational classes as well as work-study and job training experiences complement the student's academic program.

Archway prides itself in encouraging its staff to continue its own education and to investigate new and innovative methodologies.

Equally important to providing a good education for our students is preparing them to live as independently as possible.  We work to achieve this aim by providing a wide variety of support and occupational therapies, and other therapeutic services to our children and their families.

And finally, the Upper School offers all of the fun and social interaction so important in any stimulating school program.  A full-service cafeteria, gymnasium, interscholastic sports, swimming facilities, as well as a lake-side setting ideal for activities such as fishing and boating, give our students the opportunity to learn and practice life skills in a serene environment.

Archway Upper School is all that good schools should be, and then just a little bit more.  Our students' faces reflect our mission.
